Clara Tauson reached the fourth round of Wimbledon in 2025, beating Elena Rybakina before losing to Iga Świątek, who went on to win the title. It is her best result on the London grass and one of her two best Grand Slam results overall. The rest of the Clara Tauson Wimbledon record is more mixed: a debut in 2021, a retirement in 2022, qualifying in 2023 and first-round exits in 2024 and 2026.

Grass is the surface she plays least during the year, and it shows: she has lost in the first round of the main draw four times. Yet 2025 proved that her heavy forehand and aggressive baseline game can carry her a long way on the quick London courts. Compare with the other majors on the page Clara Tauson at the Grand Slams.
Wimbledon 2025: fourth round after beating Rybakina
Tauson arrived at Wimbledon 2025 with a quarterfinal in Nottingham and a win in Bad Homburg behind her. In round one she recovered from losing the first set against Britain's Heather Watson to win 2-6, 6-4, 6-3. In round two she beat Anna Kalinskaya 6-3, 7-6(10) after a long tiebreak.
Round three brought the big win: against Elena Rybakina, then ranked No. 11, she won 7-6(6), 6-3 to reach the Wimbledon fourth round for the first time. There she met Iga Świątek of Poland, who was too strong and won 6-4, 6-1. Świątek went on to win the title.
The 2025 grass season was her best ever. In Nottingham she beat Kimberly Birrell and Anna Blinkova before Magda Linette won their quarterfinal; in Bad Homburg she beat Magdalena Frech in three sets and then lost to Mirra Andreeva. With her three wins in London she finished 6-3 on grass that year – compared with 2-4 in 2026.
The Świątek rivalry had a sequel less than a month later, when Tauson beat her 7-6(1), 6-3 in Montreal on the way to the semifinal. She is 1-2 against Rybakina and 1-2 against Świątek overall – see the full list on Clara Tauson head-to-head.
The 2021 debut and the 2022 retirement
Her first main-draw match came in 2021 against Barbora Krejčíková of the Czech Republic, who won 6-3, 6-2. According to Danish Wikipedia she had already played the Wimbledon junior event in 2018 as the eighth seed.
Spring 2022 was ruined by a back injury. She withdrew from Rome, missed the French Open and was only just back for the grass season. At Wimbledon she had to retire against Japan's Mai Hontama at 1-4 in the first set. Back trouble would return in both 2025 and 2026.
Qualifying in 2023 and round one in 2024
After a difficult 2022, which she finished ranked No. 128, she had to play qualifying in 2023. She won two matches but lost in the final qualifying round to Slovakia's Viktoria Hruncakova, 5-7, 6-4, 3-6. The photo below was taken during that qualifying event.

In 2024 she was back in the main draw after her fourth round at the French Open, but the draw gave her Danielle Collins of the USA in round one. Collins won 6-3, 7-6(4) – the third time Collins had beaten her at a major, after the 2020 French Open and the 2022 Australian Open.
Wimbledon 2026: first-round loss to Sakkari
The 2026 grass season began with first-round defeats in 's-Hertogenbosch and Berlin. In Bad Homburg on 22 June she beat Diana Shnaider – her first win in more than 100 days – and then Zheng Qinwen, before Karolína Muchová stopped her in the quarterfinals.
At Wimbledon she was seeded 24th but lost in the first round to Greece's Maria Sakkari, 3-6, 3-6, on 30 June 2026. Her back had troubled her all spring, and on 22 May she had told TV 2 that she has two herniated discs. The defeat meant she lost the large haul of points from her 2025 fourth round.
After Wimbledon she switched to hard courts and found some of her form again. In July she reached the semifinal in Athens, where Barbora Krejčíková – her opponent on her Wimbledon debut in 2021 – won in three sets.
