Clara Tauson Dubai – the 2025 final and the 2026 quarter-final
Dubai 2025
At the WTA 1000 event in Dubai she beat Rebecca Šramková, Elina Svitolina, world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka (6-3, 6-2), Linda Nosková and Karolína Muchová before losing the final to Mirra Andreeva, 6-7(1), 1-6. It remains the biggest week of her career, in results and in prize money.
Dubai 2026
A year later she won three matches – against Sofia Kenin, Peyton Stearns and Magda Linette – and lost 3-6, 6-2, 4-6 to world No. 5 Jessica Pegula in the quarter-finals. It was one of her best results of 2026, but because she was defending final points she still dropped in the rankings. Her overall record in Dubai is 9-3, including qualifying in 2022.
Clara Tauson in Linz and Brisbane
The indoor event in Linz has suited her: a quarter-final as a qualifier in 2023 (lost 4-6, 5-7 to Petra Martić), the last 16 as a qualifier in 2024 (lost to Jeļena Ostapenko in a final-set tie-break) and a semi-final in 2025, lost 1-6, 4-6 to Dayana Yastremska. In 2026 she withdrew from Linz with back trouble.
Brisbane in January 2026 is the only time she has played there; she lost her opening match to Aliaksandra Sasnovich 2-6, 3-6. The 2027 event runs on 3–10 January, but as of 25 October 2026 no entry list has been published and she has not announced her schedule.
The same goes for Auckland, where she won in 2025: the ASB Classic runs on 4–10 January 2027, and Dubai is in the calendar for 14–20 February 2027. None of the entry lists has been published yet.
Clara Tauson has ended her 2026 season because of injuries, and her first tournament of 2027 has not been announced yet. The first Grand Slam of the year, the Australian Open, is played on 17–31 January 2027.
Stockholm, Lugano and Båstad – the early years
In October 2017, aged 14, she came through qualifying to reach the final of an ITF event in Stockholm (lost 4-6, 0-6 to Jacqueline Cabaj Awad) and won another ITF event there the following week, beating Ekaterina Yashina 6-3, 6-2 – the first of her 11 ITF titles. In April 2019 she qualified for the WTA event in Lugano on clay and lost in the first round to Evgeniya Rodina 7-6(2), 2-6, 5-7; according to the WTA match data it was her first WTA main draw. In July 2019 she lost to Elena Rybakina 4-6, 6-7(5) in the first round in Båstad – her only match there and her first meeting with the player she later beat at Wimbledon.
Sweden in particular played a part early on: besides Stockholm and Båstad she reached a quarter-final at an ITF event in Gothenburg in 2018 and in Ystad in 2019, the latter as a qualifier.
