Surfaces and tournament levels, 2025–2026
| Category | 2025 | 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Hard | 26–14 | 14–16 |
| Clay | 4–5 | 0–3 |
| Grass | 6–3 | 2–4 |
| Grand Slam | 7–4 | 2–4 |
| WTA 1000 | 16–10 | 5–9 |
| WTA 500 | 6–7 | 6–8 |
| WTA 250 | 7–1 | 3–2 |
| vs top 10 | 4–5 | 0–2 |
Hard courts are where she plays most of her tournaments and wins most of her matches. Grass went well in 2025, while clay has been harder over the past two seasons, with no win on the surface in 2026.
The biggest change came at WTA 1000 level: 16 wins in 2025, on the way to the Dubai final and the Montreal semi-final, against five in 2026. Every match is on the Clara Tauson results page.
At the Grand Slams she went 7-4 in 2025 and 2-4 in 2026. Her best results are the third round at the Australian Open (2022, 2025, 2026), the fourth round at the French Open (2024) and Wimbledon (2025), and the second round at the US Open (2021, 2023, 2024). Serve and return
The WTA records serve statistics for tour-level matches. Season figures as of 25 October 2026:
| Statistic | 2025 | 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Aces | 350 | 252 |
| Double faults | 204 | 147 |
| First serve in | 59.2% | 62.1% |
| First-serve points won | 69.5% | 68.5% |
| Second-serve points won | 48.0% | 43.1% |
| Service games won | 74.7% | 71.6% |
| Break points saved | 60.6% | 55.8% |
| Return points won | 42.3% | 40.3% |
| Return games won | 31.4% | 26.8% |
| Break points converted | 44.7% | 41.7% |
| Total points won | 51.5% | 49.6% |
Her first-serve numbers barely moved. The drop is behind it: almost five percentage points fewer second-serve points won, fewer break points saved and fewer return games won. That fits TV 2 pundit Peter Bastiansen's view on 15 October 2026 that her serve had declined and her movement had been restricted.
Overall she won just under half of all points in 2026, against just over half in 2025. In tennis that small margin is often the difference between a winning and a losing season, and it matches her two records: 36-22 in 2025 and 16-23 in 2026.
Tie-breaks and three-setters
We counted every singles match in the WTA match data for both seasons; matches ended by a retirement are not counted as two- or three-setters.
| Type | 2025 | 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Tie-breaks (won–lost) | 13–12 | 5–6 |
| Three-set matches | 10–8 | 5–9 |
| Two-set matches | 24–12 | 11–10 |
| After winning the first set | 29–7 | 14–4 |
| After losing the first set | 6–14 | 2–18 |
| Matches she retired from | 2 | 4 |
In 2026 she lost nine of 14 three-setters and came from a set down only twice, against Qinwen Zheng in Bad Homburg and Renata Zarazúa in Monterrey. Her four retirements came in Adelaide, Miami, Rome and Wuhan.
In 2025 the picture was the opposite: she won more three-setters than she lost (10-8), went 13-12 in tie-breaks and won 29 of the 36 matches in which she took the first set. That ability to close out matches was a big part of her rise to No. 12.
Clara Tauson in doubles
Doubles takes up less of her calendar, but she plays it regularly at the big events. Her career doubles record is 24-46 according to the WTA, with no titles yet. In 2026 she went 6-15, yet reached her best doubles ranking, No. 56 on 23 February 2026. Her latest doubles match was in Beijing in October 2026 with Linda Nosková, a first-round loss, and she was No. 104 in doubles on 19 October 2026. According to WTA tournament data she earned about $209,000 in doubles in 2026, more than in any previous season.
Clara Tauson's ITF titles
Before her WTA titles she won 11 titles on the ITF pro circuit: Stockholm (2017, aged 14), Monastir, Shenzhen, Xiamen and Meitar (2019), Glasgow and Oeiras (2020), Fujairah and Altenkirchen (2021), Selva Gardena (2022) and Altenkirchen again (2023). On the ITF junior tour she won the 2019 Australian Open girls' title and became junior world No. 1, the first Danish girl to do so. The full story is on the Clara Tauson career page.
